What is a BIA?

A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is an innovation that allows local businesses people and commercial property owners and tenant to join together and, with the support of the municipality to organize, finance, and carry out physical improvements and promote economic development in their district. 

Businesses pay a levy in an ongoing effort to draw more prospective customers to their area by improving the attractiveness of the area and promoting it as a good place to shop, visit, dine and do business. 

The Downtown Bench Beamsville BIA was formed in 1978 by a group of business owners with a vision to improve downtown Beamsville and take on their vision of beautification and commitment to the downtown and community.

Our business community is quaint, full of charm and genuine businesses owners.  Without our Board of Directors and our Executive Director as well as the many volunteers and Town of Lincoln’s support we would not be as successful in carrying out our six key functions to fulfill our mandate.
